CAREER EVENTS
Professional Development Workshops are available throughout the year in person at the Modesto A. Maidique
Campus ( MMC) , Biscayne Bay Campus ( BBC) , and Engineering Center ( EC) , as well as virtually on Zoom. They are
designed to support individuals in advancing their career by providing comprehensive training in all aspects of career
and professional development.
The workshops cover a range of topics, including:
Resume Writing: Participants gain insights into the appearance, style, and formats of writing an effective resume,
critical for capturing an employer's attention.
Branding for Success: Learn about the do's and don'ts of maintaining a positive online presence and tools for
creating a compelling personal brand in the digital space.
Career Exploration: Understand the significance of choosing a major, exploring various career options, and
leveraging available resources.
Internships: Learn valuable information about different types of internships, reasons for interning, and effective
strategies for researching, applying to, and preparing for internships.

branding, particularly beneficial for those with limited experience using the platform.
Elevator Pitch: Individuals can gain insights into crafting an ideal 30-60 second speech about themselves and
their goals for professional settings, such as job interviews and networking events.

How to Prepare for a Career Fair/EXPO: Understand the importance of attending career fairs and expos, learn
